PuLLING TOGETHER: THE SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC VALUE OF A FULLY ACCESSIBLE, MULTI-USE COMMUNITY ROWING FACILITY IN Sydney’s inner west
Access to waterways and rowing offers transformative social and health benefits, yet many communities lack the inclusive facilities needed to participate. This report, developed for the Community Rowing Club (CRC) in Sydney’s Inner West, provides the robust evidence base required to unlock funding for a fully-accessible community rowing facility.
The Insight Centre conducted a comprehensive literature review, highlighting the specific health and social outcomes for priority groups, including people with disability, veterans, First Nations people, and at-risk youth. To provide a rigorous financial narrative, the report includes a Social Return on Investment (SROI) analysis, quantifying the project’s long-term social and economic impact for the region.
By articulating the CRC’s value through both qualitative evidence and a tangible SROI figure, this report serves as a powerful advocacy tool for engaging stakeholders and donors. It provides a clear roadmap for investment, demonstrating how inclusive infrastructure contributes to a stronger, more connected community.
Facing the Health Gap: The key challenges Undermining progress in Aboriginal Health Outcomes in the NT
Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Services across the Northern Territory provide vital, culturally safe care, yet face systemic challenges from inadequate infrastructure, workforce shortages and unsustainable funding. These pressures compromise the wellbeing of clinical teams and limit the delivery of essential services to remote communities.
The Insight Centre partnered with AMSANT to develop a comprehensive report quantifying these operational gaps. Drawing on direct surveys with health leadership, the research revealed how facility standards and administrative burdens have forced service reductions across the sector.
By providing a robust evidence base for reform, the report has become a pivotal tool for securing stronger government support.
